A magnitude 6.9 earthquake occurred at 3:40 p.m. on Sunday.
The temblor was centered about 108 miles east-southeast of Tijuana, Mexico according to the USGS.
The earthquake was felt across southern California and into Arizona. It shook high-rises in downtown Los Angeles and San Diego.
